general availabilityGeneral availability (GA) is the point in time where all necessary commercialization activities have been completed and the software has been made available to the general market either via the web or physical media.
general terms and conditions

The general terms and conditions are conditions that apply when a contract between two parties comes into force.

Conditions regarding different topics have to be included in the general terms and condition like:

  • precondition for the contract
  • price information: gross/net prices, tax
  • payment and shipping methods and charges
  • terms of delivery
  • warranty and liability
  • right of rescission
  • country related laws that will be apply
  • contact address
  • company information

The laws valid in the delivery country applying.


gift card

A gift card is a physical card or code that entitles the person who redeems it to make use of the service specified. A gift card code is an identification number of a created gift card.

In Intershop 7/Intershop Commerce Management, gift cards are specific products that are intended to be used as a payment method.

Impact on business processes

  • A gift card can be bought by a customer and is given to another customer to redeem it. It should be activated if the related purchase order has been paid.
  • It is not a legal requirement that the customer who has received the gift card has to be identical with the one who redeems it (beneficiary). A gift card can be redeemed in different parts. The remaining value has to be kept. The gift card is valid as long as the whole amount has been redeemed.
  • The validity period of a gift card can not be restricted by the merchant. It is restricted by law applicable in the related country.
  • In case of returns, the beneficiary is entitled to get a new gift card or a credit note (payback).

In Enfinity Suite 6, gift certificates are technically based on coupons.

hotfixA public release of Intershop Commerce Management that usually solves critical problems or defects. Hotfixes for a minor release are cumulative. A hotfix must be fully API compatible to previous versions.
hyper-threadingHyper-threading is Intel's proprietary simultaneous multithreading (SMT) implementation used to improve parallelization of computations (doing multiple tasks at once) performed on PC microprocessors. For each processor core that is physically present, the operating system (OS) addresses two virtual or logical cores, and shares the workload between them when possible. They appear to the OS as two processors, thus the OS can schedule two processes at once. In addition, two or more processes can use the same resources.
