Commerce Management (P)

The Commerce Management (or Commerce management application) is the main business application of the Intershop Commerce Management. As the primary business management tool it allows for business-relevant tasks, like product and catalog management, content management, shop application management, promotion and campaign management, etc.

The organization structure consists of different levels such as organization, channel and application. With the DropDown Icon in the upper right corner of the Commerce Management, you can easily access each of these levels.

  • Organization Level:

The organization is a corporate actor in Intershop Commerce Management. It can refer to the sales organization (owner or "root" organization) or a partner and represents their corresponding (top-level) management context.

  • Channel Level:

Technically, a channel in Intershop Commerce Management is a data repository combined with applications that allow for viewing and manipulating this data. Channel data can be created and held locally, or it can be shared or syndicated from the parent sales organization's master repository. From a business perspective, channels are used to structure the sales organization, for example, along dimensions like countries, brands or business models.

  • Application Level:

From a shop manager's or user's perspective, an application is a customizable tool that provides a set of functionality via a user interface in order to access and manage the data of Intershop Commerce Management repositories (sites).

  • Data View / Design View:

The Design View is a major functionality of Intershop's web content management. It is a fully functional working mode of Intershop Commerce Management front ends that allows for creating and managing content in its target context. The Design View makes it possible to immediately preview the result of any editing action on the corresponding web page. This includes content composition like, for example, the assignment of a component to a slot and content editing such as replacing pictures or changing data.

Order Management (P)

The Intershop Order Management is an Intershop Commerce Suite application that is designed to combine omni-channel commerce processes into one system. It automates and streamlines the life-cycle of orders and payments. Intershop Order Management processes orders from multiple touchpoints (web shop, mobile shop, call center, etc.), allocates them to multiple fulfillment solutions (fulfillment centers, drop-ship distributors, physical stores, etc.), and tracks all order and payment transactions.

Intershop Order Management offers a centralized platform for managing distributed inventory, order, invoice and payment life cycles, and provides call center functionality, enabling real-time visibility into customers' purchasing behavior, stock levels, payments, and more. As part of Intershop Commerce Suite, it utilizes the suite's transaction, PIM and merchandising features.

Note

The Intershop Order Management is an independent system which is licensed and offered separately.
