Depending on the context, "customer" may refer to different concepts.

  1. 6WR/ISAFe:
    In the context of the 6WR project or ISAFe, customers are the corporations, organizations, etc. who buy e-commerce products, solutions, extensions and/or services at Intershop.
  2. Shop Manager:
    In the e-commerce manager's perspective, a customer is an actor at the "buying side" of the e-commerce system who, among others,
    • browses through the storefront
    • orders products and services
    • returns products
    • creates and manages an own customer account
    • subscribes or unsubscribes for newsletters
    • ...

In Intershop 7/Intershop Commerce Management, customers are categorized in customer types and can be grouped in customer segments.
