Public Release Note - Intershop Order Management 2.14

1 Introduction

Welcome to Intershop Order Management 2.14!

Intershop Order Management is an Intershop Commerce Suite application that is designed to combine omni-channel commerce processes into one system. It automates and streamlines the life cycle of orders and payments. Intershop Order Management processes orders from multiple touch points (web shop, mobile shop, call center and more), allocates them to multiple fulfillment solutions (fulfillment centers, drop-ship distributors, physical stores and more), and tracks all order and payment transactions.

Intershop Order Management offers a centralized platform for managing distributed inventory, order, invoice and payment life cycles, and provides call center functionality, enabling real-time visibility into customers' purchasing behavior, stock levels, payments, and more. As part of Intershop Commerce Suite, it utilizes the suite's transaction, PIM and merchandising features.

Intershop Order Management (IOM) offers the possibility to tailor your business models as flexible and free as you need and depict them in your e-commerce environment. The order management system adjusts the order processing for various sales channels and suppliers and can be seamlessly integrated with existing components of your IT environment.

4 New Features and Enhancements

4.1 Enhancements of the User Interface OMT

4.1.1 Search for Transmissions

Next to the REST-API for transmissions the OMT offers a section for searching now. Selecting at least a Type and a range of the creation date gives an overview and insights to transmissions.

The picture is showing that an e-mail with an attached invoice could not be sent to the customer. Clicking the question mark will display some more details.

Also, see Reference - IOM Transmission Statuses find out which processing statuses could be reached for the different transmission types. For more details about the transmission's REST-API see Overview - IOM REST API.

4.2 Enhancements in Setup and Operations

4.2.1 WildFly 17 and Java 11.0.3

The application server was updated to WildFly 17 and Java 11.0.3.

Also see the official announcement: https://wildfly.org/news/2019/06/10/WildFly17-Final-Released/.

4.2.2 Manage Impex Schedule Beans by ScheduleDO and Quartz

The schedules for beans for import and export of articles and the export of orders and customers are now configurable using the database table ScheduleDO.

Additionally, the quartz job 'JOB_FRAMEWORK' was replaced with an internal Java-timer.

Please also see Guide - IOM 2.14 Migration of SetupConcept - IOM Job Framework, Reference - IOM Quartz Jobs and Reference - IOM Schedule Jobs.

4.3 Interfaces

4.3.1 Extended REST-API for Transmissions

The REST-API for transmissions was extended by two new endpoints:

  • transmissions/<transmissionsId>, which can be used to view a transmission by id.
  • transmission-updates, which can be used to create update processes for one or more transmissions.
For call center operations it can be used e.g., to just resend a single e-mail to the customer.
For technical operations it can be used to resend a number of order transmissions to an external system again if there where technical difficulties at a certain point of time.
Next to the resend-process, cancellation and setting the transmission's status to already sent is supported.

The specification can be found in the delivery doc/REST/intershop-order-management-transmission-1.1.yaml.

Also links to the transmissions are supported now in the responses.

For more information also see Overview - IOM REST API and Reference - IOM Transmission Statuses.

4.4 Others

4.4.1 Optional Supplier Evaluation Rule (Support Cash on Delivery)

The supplier evaluation rule to support cash on delivery is optional now (OrderSupplierEvaluationRuleDefDO id=7).
